We are thrilled to bring back our Big Chill winter buckle series for the third consecutive year!

The series is made up of four shoots, held on
- Saturday, November 8th
- Saturday, March 7th
- Saturday, March 21st
- Saturday, April 18th

Series Awards:
- Men's/Ladies' Divisional Buckles
- Senior Men's/Senior Ladies Divisional Buckles
- Class Awards
- Specialty Awards

You must participate in three of the four shoots to qualify for series-end awards.

Each shoot will consist of
- Four-stage* Main Match ($65 entry fee; $55 office fee)
- Two stages of Shotgun ($45)
- Two stages of Rifle ($45)
- Wrangler ($25)
- Exhibition ($20 per stage)

Schedule:
- 8:00 - 9:00 AM: Registration
- 9:15 AM: Safety meeting
- 9:30 AM Stage 1 Shotgun
- Stages 1 & 2 Rifle
- Stage 2 Shotgun
~ 10:30 am: Stages 1 - 4 Main Match

Wranglers will run at the end of Stage 1, the beginning of Stage 2, the end of Stage 3, and the beginning of Stage 4. Open Wrangler ground shooting will take place between Stages 2 and 3, with any penalties being assigned to Stage 3.

You may tie your horse for the day or purchase a stall. Penland Arena has 44 stalls available onsite if you would like to stall your horse for the day or come the night before and stall overnight. Bring your own shavings.

Ample parking available. Dry camping only -- no hookups. There is no charge for dry camping.

Home-cooked food will be available for purchase onsite.

* If we have more than 50 entries, we will move to a 3-Stage Main Match. If the weather is too frigid (below freezing), we reserve the right to move to a 3-Stage Main Match with a slightly delayed start time (so we can freeze for a shorter period of time).
