Description
Come showoff and get some excitement going at the Cowboy Symposium in Ruidoso Downs, NM.!
Each year, during the second full weekend in October, Ruidoso Downs, New Mexico plays host to the nation's finest cowboy festival with old west storytellers, noted historians, poets, musicians (including the world famous Texas Playboys), Chuckwagon cook-offs, western artists and craftsmen for three days of events, cowboy competitions, horse demonstrations, western swing dancing, kids rodeo and educational activities. In 1996, the symposium was selected as the Best Cowboy Cultural Event by the National Cowboy Symposium Association.
In years past the majority of New Mexico shooters saw our sport for the very first time at the symposium and we are excited to once again be competing at this venue. We'll be riding right on the very same track the hosts the World's Richest Quarter Race: The All American Futurity each year. (Talk about good footing!)
Friday evening - Welcome dinner free to shooters. We will gather at the stalls. Bring your own chair and beverage.
Saturday :
4 stage DWPQ shoot. Entry fee is only $100 with a 55% payback. 10% of the payback will go to overall/reserve. No office fee. Riders meeting at 10:00 am with the shoot starting immediately following. Wranglers entry is $15. WE ARE WORKING ON ADDED MONEY!!
Rifle and Shotgun $50 entry with 50% payback
Clean shooter jackpot $10
Other fun stuff - other jackpots, team event, pony express, etc. will be decided at the shoot depending on interest
Time Only's welcomed!! $10/run
Stay for Sunday for another chance to win!
Please enter in advance online so everyone knows who's coming!.
Stalls are $15.00 per horse per night and dry camping is free with some electricity hookups available.
